But in the land of Make Believe things are very rarely how they appear and Flynn is going to discover that the man beneath the mask is worth selling her soul.
Winter Mitchell is living a carefully constructed illusion, a role he assumed when he had been lost amongst the wolves. Even though the world believes he's engaged to the beautiful Melissa Irish, nothing could be further from the truth. He is content living the lie until Flynn Rogers crashes into his life and she is unlike anyone he has ever known. She has no filter between her thoughts and her tongue, she's cautious yet wildly inquisitive, and he pursues her with single-minded determination, reclaiming pieces of himself that he had lost along the way.

a little advice
By Kindle Customer
Don't start reading this if you don't have time to finish it. Love Winter!!!!!! Wish there really was a Flynn and she was ME!! This is an author I will be looking for and buying without any doubt that I will be having a wonderful adventure. Love the HEA but I will not give details away. If you are like me a good book is a personal experience and I don't want to ruin that experience for anyone. Believe me you will fall in love with this story. Don't waste another minute not reading!!

Made me laugh....
By Anne M.
This book had me laughing right from the start. What a great story, there's comedy and heartbreak, and the sex...well damn. There are enough twists and turns that keep you turning the page. Would have loved to give this a 5 star rating but there were a couple of little things that just bugged me about Winter. This is a great read though......

I loved it
By kerbytejas
What a great story….
I want Winter, and a pirate ship play area….
Magic - pure enjoyable magic…humor, wit, sexual tension, sarcasm, tasteful kink (loved the Halloween scene @ Velvet Smoke.), betrayal, a character you could hate (Melissa) and one you just had to love (storm). Flynn’s parents were cool, loved the Dad. Oh and Harry, with his tats, piercings, and gentle heart…so cool
Really like the story about Winters’ name, and his son named Storm so works. Flynn, Fallon and even Murphy are unique names but even more so for girls, and it just adds to the books magic
Even the Ginger story line was interesting…a nice play on anonymous sex, and quit a burden of guilt for Winter to carry
OK, I admit it - I said all of those things when I finished reading A.C. Warneke’s first contemporary romance named Winter’s Heart. I really liked this book!. So other readers are gonna say, that’s not new, I've read that before, oh that’s so clichĂ©, what’s the big deal! You know what I don’t care! I really liked this book!
The story flowed well, was warm, loving, HOT, had humor, wit sarcasm ( the author even made fun of the PNR genre which is where she usually writes). Winter’s character was strong, but not uber alpha, rich, but not arrogant, there was no flaunting of his wealth, it wasn't hidden but it wasn't used to get the girl either.
Flynn’s character was like a farm girl on the outside, with a hidden tigress just lurking below the surface waiting for the right man to open the cage door and let it out. And then there’s Melissa, so much to be said about her, but I’ll just say she’s great manipulator, she actually seemed to represent the Hollywood starlet to a tee.
The supporting cast was primarily made up of Flynn’s sister Fallon, Flynn’s boss Diane, Harry the restaurant owner, and Winter’s son Storm. Additional characters with smaller rolls help round out the story.
The plot was multifaceted, and well executed. The story progressed in logical fashion, no noticeable timeline issue, chemistry and connection between Winter and Flynn was strong. The sexual tension between Winter and Flynn is slow building, but once the that fire gets lit it just keeps burning HOT. The sex is tasteful, with mild kink, nothing shocking or in your face, supportive of the story line, never becoming the primary focus of the book. This is a stand alone, no cliff hanger, and actually no hint of another book based on any of the characters in this book (although I could see Harry & Fallon getting a book – or maybe that just my wish) For a beta copy, the editing and error rate was negligible. The book is about 220 pages, it a quick and very enjoyable read, with a satisfactory HEA. I was really happy to see the big betrayal scene was not a long drawn out book filler, but was resolved in a reasonable number of pages.
Again, this is just my opinion of the book, all readers will have theirs, I consider myself really lucky to have had the opportunity to read this ARC provided by the Author for an honest review, because
This was just the fanciful read I needed and it came at a perfect time. A 5 star read for me.
