All Killer, No Filler.

I don't normally do reviews, but I thought I would for this pub. Todd Lammle has always found a way to make Cisco Systems certification guide books that are clear, concise, and always easy to read/absorb. His guides for CCNA - Route and Switch have been the standard for some time now. For most, it is the book that opens the door into the world of networking. Though it took a while this installment to get published, this guide follows suit of the others. It is the boiled down information you need to pass the exam. Do not get me wrong, if you want to dive into the minutiae of protocols and RFC's, there are other guides. If you want to concentrate on the absolute essentials to pass the exam, buy the book.

Inadaquete

You've only got two choices, this super short, easy to read incomplete book that seems to be based on out of date dumps, or the 1000 page Cisco Press book with 5 authors and no editor that spends an inordinate amount of page space to irrelevent topics (like how SCSI used to work back in the 80s), is poorly formatted and repetitive (like each author submitted a draft for a chapter, and they just pasted all 5 drafts back to back in the book)

If you can find the videos done by Jason Lunde, they are the best single resource, but you will still be spending time with the plain old Cisco Documentation. And probably watching CCNP and CCIE videos at INE.COM. Neither of the two books published are adequate. No single set of videos are adequate. And the Jason Lunde videos are no longer available as IPExpert went out of business. He is working on new ones, so look him up. But I think they CCIE oriented.

I'd recommend using this one as a guide to what topics to study, and as an intro. Then hit the Cisco Documentation. If you aren't accustomed to reading Cisco Docs, you are going to have a hard time. But unless you have hands on experience with Nexus and MDS switches, Cisco UCS blade enclosures and Fiber Channel concepts, no single resource will be adequate. And this one is worse than most.

About the Author
Lee A. Jacobus is professor emeritus of English at the University of Connecticut and the author/editor of popular English and drama textbooks, among them the full and compact versions of The Bedford Introduction to Drama, Sixth Edition (Bedford/St. Martin's, 2009); and The Longman Anthology of American Drama. He has written scholarly books on Paradise Lost, on the works of John Cleveland, and on the works of Shakespeare, including Shakespeare and the Dialectic of Certainty. He is also a playwright and author of fiction. Two of his plays — Fair Warning and Long Division — were produced in New York by the American Theater of Actors, and Dance Therapy, three one-act plays, was produced in New York at Where Eagles Dare Theatre.  He has recently written a book of short stories, Volcanic Jesus, which is set in Hawaii.

Great book has bios of the authors whose works you are about to read, its nice to learn a little about their life before reading something they wrote because it enhances their works and makes me understand where they are coming from. There are many great works in this book.

Amazing read. I rented this book for one of my courses and I honestly couldn't get my hands off the dang computer to read it! I personally hate reading and am disgusted by any sight of a book, but this was enjoyable and brought up many amazing critical thinking points.

About the Author
R.T. Floyd is in his thirty-second year of providing athletic training services for the University of West Alabama. Currently, he serves as Director of Sports Medicine and Athletic Training for the UWA Athletic Training & Sports Medicine Center, Program Director for the CAAHEP accredited athletic training education program, and as Chair and professor in the Department of Physical Education and Athletic Training. A licensed athletic trainer and emergency medical technician, Dr. Floyd is a certified member of numerous professional organizations including the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the Athletic Equipment Managers’ Association. He also retains active membership in the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine, and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He represents the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association (SEATA) and District IX of the NATA as District Director to the NATA Board of Directors. He also serves as Member Development Chair on the NATA Research and Education Foundation Board of Directors. Floyd has served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic in his native Montgomery for 25 years, after spending two years on the annual event’s athletic training staff. He is a 1974 graduate of Lowndes Academy, where he worked as an all-sports athletic trainer for four years, before earning a B.S. and M.A.T. in Physical Education from UWA in 1980 and 1982, as well as an Ed.D. in Human Performance Studies from the University of Alabama in 1995. Floyd was named to the UWA Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001, the Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame in 2004, and tabbed an "Outstanding Young Men of America" in 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1986. He was presented the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award by the NATA in 2003 and received the organization’s Service Award in 1996. He received the District IX Award for Outstanding Contribution to the field of Athletic Training by SEATA in 1990 and the organization’s highest award, the Award of Merit, in 2001. In 2004, he was inducted into the Alabama Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame. He was named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2005. In 1996 he was presented the UWA Achievement Award by the University of West Alabama National Alumni Association. In 1997, the UWA Faculty and Board of Trustees recognized Floyd for outstanding achievement in scholarship, teaching, and leadership by presenting him with a Loraine McIlwain Bell Trustee Professorship. Previously, Floyd served as President of the UWA Faculty Senate and completed two terms as President of the Alabama Council of University Faculty Presidents.

fantastic book, a keeper, full of excellent knowledge for anyone interested in kinesiology/muscles/exercise

As students we purchase dozens of books because they are required for our courses. However, many of them are just boring, or just collect dust as they are barely used during the class.

However, the Manual of Structural Kinesiology by Floyd has been a fantastic read with excellent information, it is very well written and only covers what is essential to kinesiology students. All the muscles are displayed, explained, with pronunciation for those like myself who have a hard time reading some of these Greek/Latin terms. In the back of the book there is a chart that lists muscle groups precises, so you will better understand what muscles are being used during the most common exercises.

I will end it there. Seeing that you are here, you are probably buying this book for class. This book is worth buying for sure, don't rent it. Unlike other books, this one is something you will want to keep and highlight and book mark for sure. I will be going back and forth to this book for a very long time. I would highly recommend reading it in its entirety.

One of the most important things you will get out of this book is to ALWAYS make sure you have good posture... Stand of straight and keep the erector spinae muscles strong!

By far the best textbook I have ever bought in the three years I've been in college! If you are a kinesiology major or plan on going to PT, OT, Med, or chiropractic this bad boy will save your life with the anatomy portion of these fields (especially with AOII). Very well organized and well written. Definitely keeping this until it falls apart!

If you need to use the worksheets or coloring pages in the book, I don't suggest downloading to a Kindle. The companion website doesn't have print out worksheets :(

Collins is best known for his novels The Woman in White, an early sensation novela genre combining shocking gothic horror with everyday domestic settingsand The Moonstone, which is credited as one of the first modern mystery novels. In the 1850s Collins met Charles Dickens and the two struck up a friendship, which lead to Collins becoming a frequent contributor to Dickens s journals Household Words and All the Year Round. Many of his stories have been adapted for film, including Basil, A Terribly Strange Bed, The Moonstone and The Woman in White. Collins died in 1889 at the age of 65.

Conspiracy, strategy, and counter conspiracy. Great Mystery.

Captivating story of tragedy, injustice, greed, unsympathetic relatives, as well as conspiracy, counter conspiracy, and strategies to get justice for themselves, and worm the money from the ungenerous and greedy rich, only to wreck physical and emotional damage to body and soul. This is written in the language of Charles Dickens or Sherlock Holmes, or just old English if that makes sense. I never lost track of the main story in the details of the scenes, and It was good to read something than contemporary stories. This was well edited for ebooks and I totally enjoyed this story.

A moral tale well told

Like: Characters well developed for the most part. Pure hearts with patience and dependence on providence produces a satisfying result. Enjoyed the turn of phrase and subtle inferences of things to come.
Dis: A little too "romantic" in that all ends well, in spite of bad behavior.
